Keira has signed to play Domino Harvey in a movie version of the model-turned-bounty hunter's life. It's described as a 'dark thriller' and will shoot from October to December. Today's Variety has this:

New Line falls for 'Domino'
Principal photography skedded to begin Oct. 4

HOLLYWOOD -- Tony Scott will direct and Keira Knightley will star in "Domino" for New Line.
Penned by "Donnie Darko" writer-director Richard Kelly, "Domino" is based on the true story of Domino Harvey, the daughter of actor Laurence Harvey. A former Ford model, she rejected her life in Beverly Hills to become a bounty hunter.

Scott and Samuel Hadida are producing the picture, which Hadida is financing. Principal photography is scheduled to begin Oct. 4, with shoots in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.

Hadida's Metropolitan Filmexport will release the film in France, while Summit Entertainment and Davis Films are handling other foreign sales.

"Domino" is a Davis Films/Scott-Free production. New Line production president Toby Emmerich is overseeing the project for the studio.

Scott and Hadida collaborated on "True Romance" (1993) and "Spy Game" (2001).

Hadida brought the project to New Line, which has long utilized Metropolitan as its French distribdistrib.

Scott most recently directed "Man on Fire."

Most recently starring in "King Arthur," Knightley will star opposite Adrien Brody in "The Jacket" and will topline "Pride and Prejudice."

Hadida's other 2004 productions include "Resident Evil: Apocalypse" and "The Bridge of San Luis Rey," starring Robert De NiroRobert De Niro.

I was watching E! News Live this morning. They talked about Keira signing on for Domino. They also said she was currently in negotiations for Pirates 2 and 3. Hope that all goes well.

No, it's just a thriller with extremely dark undertones. Like a David Lynch film or The Silence of the Lambs.

As this was the original thread...

Some more info today on the plot and co-stars:

Look for numerous local sightings in the coming weeks of Vanity Fair magazine cover girl Keira Knightley ("King Arthur," "Pirates of the Caribbean").

She stars in "Domino," which starts filming this month -- Valley of Fire and Stratosphere are two spots being used for filming. The action thriller, directed by Tony Scott ("Top Gun," "Spy Game"), is based on the life story of Domino Harvey, who ditched a career as a Ford model to become a bounty hunter.

In the film, she is assigned to solve the kidnapping of a TV reality show host, played by Ian Ziering of "Beverly Hills 90210" fame. Other "90210" cast members appear in the fake reality show as well.

Harvey is also the daughter of late actor Laurence Harvey -- who starred in the original version of "The Manchurian Candidate" -- and the stepdaughter of Hard Rock Hotel magnate Peter Morton.

We look forward to the movie's closing scene, which we hear may feature the explosion of the top of the Stratosphere.

"It is a Tony Scott action movie, so there will be a lot going on," Strat spokesman Michael Gilmartin told us. "We are very excited that they are going to be filming scenes at our property."

The film is slated to open next April 23.

Thankfully, Keira has demonstrated infinite wiseness by picking the roles that she does. Now all we can do is hope and pray that they work.

Wow, what a big transition from Guinevere to Elizabeth Bennett to Domino. I miss Guinevere :P Usually actresses play the same role over and over and over again (*ahem* Hilary Duff) but no, not Keira!
